So, here I am, back to the daily grind. While I was gone, a fiend has gone and kidnapped my Ben Grimm and Hellboy action figures. I had no clue who did it, so I kindly reminded everyone that a good kidnapper leaves a ransom note. I got my first clue this afternoon. We'll see how long it takes for me to find them. Haha. I know who's in on it. I rearranged a couple of desks as a parting gift and this is their revenge.
It's going to be a fun week.
I am planning a complete revamp of my room. It'll be a huge task, but I want everything completely organized and taken care of before I go back to work. Emilee starts school on the 13th, so there's a few hours a day I have to myself. When my parents get back, I'm going to have to ask my dad to help me move and haul off some furniture. Then, I've got a couple new pieces of furniture that I need to throw in there.
I'm also hoping to get a lot of my story done. We'll see how it goes.
Yeah, it's been quite awhile since I've written anything. I've been a busy little bee! Anyway, just checking in to say that all is well and I'm still alive. I hope everyone else can say the same!
Anwyay, so, what have I been up to? Do I have anything to show for my absence? Yes! I've been diligently working on a website that is finally up and running! Beautifulhell.bravehost.com
Hope you enjoy.
Now, I know that the comic book movie has always been around. We have many versions of Batman, Superman, etc. Not to mention the countless television series and cartoons.
But in the past ten years or so, I've noticed a mass upchucking of comics on the big screen. Not to mention the next decade of comic movies being planned and talked about.
So what happened that caused this sudden surge?
I haven't always been a comic fan. I watcheed Superman and Batman while growing up. But I didn't REALLY start reading until 2005. That's 5 years AFTER the first X-Men movie caused me to fall in love with Wolverine.
This summer has seen a ton of Comic movies. I've seen all but Batman. Hellboy was an accident. I saw the preview while at Hulk and said, "that looks kinda fun!" and only later found it was a comic book. (I'd never seen the first one until about 2 weeks ago...2004 was a bad year for me so I didn't see many movies and missed a lot.) So, Hellboy is basically causing me to denounce my "loyalty" to Marvel...eh...I'm still pissed at them anyway.
So anyway, my point is...whatever these comic book companies are doing, they're doing it right and I think it's safe to say that we'll be seeing many more comic movies in the near future and they will continue to grow in popularity.
I had two bests this weekend. First, on Friday, I went with my dad to see Hellboy II. It was awesome and I had a lot of fun. Second, on Sunday, I got to see my daughter in her recital for dance. She did great and looked so beautiful up on stage. This also means I have three weeks off before dance starts again!
What question do you hate being asked?
Where's your daughter's father?
Seriously, I hate being asked this question. I left him for a reason. If I WANTED you to know about him, or where he was, don't you think I would have brought it up? The people who NEED to know, know. Otherwise, it's none of your damn business! If I feel you need to know, I'll tell you okay?
Anyway, here's one I did with Ultimate Avengers and the Pearl Harbor soundtrack. Hope you enjoy!
Sleep in.
What have you been putting off all weekend?
Laundry.
My friends and loved ones.
Thanks. :) I'm hoping that I don't run out of steam with the story. I love the typing joke. :)... read more
